Put your own oxygen mask on first. – In order to be of service to the people in your life, you must feel healthy, well and safe. Just as the airlines advise people to put on their own oxygen mask before going to the assistance of others in an emergency, it is important to see to your own needs daily so you can be of service to others.

Today, make a list of the things that nourish you and make you feel your best. It might be yoga, meditation, massage, walking in the woods, dancing on the beach, swimming in the ocean, climbing a tree…what renews your vitality and joy? Choose a couple that are non-negotiable and commit to making sure those things happen on a regular basis. Be specific about timing and stick to it. You can’t give from an empty vessel. The people who rely on you will benefit enormously from your enhanced wellbeing.
